The Enrollment Agreement
You must read the Enrollment Agreement and check the box below to agree to the terms and conditions before you can register for the course.
To serve alcohol in Washington:
- You must be at least 18 years old to receive your permit in Washington.
- Take and pass an alcohol server education class that is a minimum three hours in length, and have your permit in hand within 60 days of initial hire.
- For those who are 18, 19 or 20 years of age, you will receive a Class 13 permit. For those that are 21 years of age or older, you will receive a Class 12. Both are valid for five years. The differences in privileges are explained in the course. To upgrade your Class 13 permit once you turn 21, contact us here with your name and email address.
- To replace your lost permit or to change your name on it, please contact us here. You may also contact the WSLCB.
- Your permit will be mailed promptly after completing the course. Please allow 5–10 business days (particularly over any holiday). However, allow up to 30 days for your permit to arrive. If you have not received your permit after 30 days from the date you submitted your test, please contact us here.

We are available to help you 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Between the hours of 8am – 8pm Monday through Friday you can expect immediate support. At all other times we are available to assist you but staffing is reduced and we will provide support as soon as possible.

By submitting your tuition you understand that we do not offer refunds. This is a service you are purchasing, not a product that can be returned. This class will be available for you to attend for 90 days after date of purchase. To terminate enrollment, close your browser window before submitting tuition.
Resources to Print
Although not required, you can download and print a full class workbook but ONLY after you have completed the training (Washington State law). This material can be used as a reference in the future and is available for download after the course has been completed and the test has been submitted.
Why We Ask You Security Questions
The Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board requires each student to validate their identity. At registration, you will be asked simple personal questions that must be answered correctly within 45 seconds at random points during the course to verify you are the same person who registered for the course.
Why We Need Your Social Security Number
RCW 26.23.150 requires that the WSLCB obtain a SSN for each MAST permit holder in order to assist in child support enforcement as required by federal law. State law authorizes providers and trainers such as ATP to obtain SSNs from permit holders.
Course Goals
- To promote responsible alcohol consumption through responsible alcohol service.
- To give you the knowledge and skills to prevent alcohol sales to minors and apparently intoxicated persons and avoid third-party liability lawsuits.
- To help you realize that your actions can reduce the number of intoxicated drivers, deaths, injuries, and other costs resulting from alcohol abuse.
- To give you practice checking ID and stopping service to apparently intoxicated persons.
- To help save lives.
Course Objectives
ATP will have the course available to the student for 90 days after registration and tuition has been submitted for the course. By completing this course, you will learn the following objectives:
- Washington's Alcohol Server Education law.
- Alcohol as a drug and its effects on the body and behavior, especially driving ability.
- Drinking and driving laws and liquor liability statues.
- Washington alcohol sales and service laws.
- Effective alcohol server intervention techniques.
- Effects of alcohol on combination with commonly used legal and illegal drugs.
Obligations of the trainer
- Permits will be issued within 30 days of the date of course completion.
- What permit will be received? Class 13 for those 18-20 years of age, Class 12 for those 21 years of age and older.
Obligations of the student
- Person registering for the course must be the one to complete the course.
- Student must complete the entire course before taking the standardized exam.
- Student will not be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol while completing the exam.
- Passing requirement: a minimum score of 80% is required.
About the Course and Test
- Access to the test is granted after completing the entire course.
- You will have as long as you'd like to take your test, however, after thirty minutes of inactivity, the 5 minute log out warning will appear on your screen prompting you to continue. If you do not resume activity within 5 minutes, you will be logged out of the test and you will have to retake the course and test from the beginning.
- There are 40 multiple choice questions on this standardized test. The test (not the entire course) is available in English, Spanish or Korean. You may choose the language by clicking the corresponding button on the screen.
- You must score 80% or higher to pass the test (32 out of the 40 questions correct).
- You may NOT refer to the course workbook during the test.

Permit Replacement Policy
- Permits are replaced free of charge if requested forty days from your submitted test date. After forty days, we charge $7 to cover the cost of a new permit, processing and postage. To order a replacement permit, please email us here support@washingtonserverpermit.com.
You **MUST NOT** refer to any written material or have a discussion with another person during the test (except a certified instructor, or interpreter).
Student Validation
At points throughout the course, you will be asked validation questions from the information provided by you at registration as per the Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board.
A correct answer must match the information in your profile and must be entered within 30 seconds. If you fail more than 2 validation questions, the course will be suspended and you must contact ATP.
If you can satisfactorily validate your identity via email, the course shall be reopened and the student shall be allowed to proceed.
DSHS And Your MAST Permit
To comply with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services' (DSHS) Division of Child Support (DCS), this agency certifies and requires the WSLCB to suspend or cancel the MAST permits of non-custodial parents who are at least six months in arrears on child support payments.

Browser: Internet Explorer 9 or higher, and current versions of Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari. (all browsers tested have performed well, but not all browsers have been tested).
